My Philosophy

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
Eleanor Roosevelt

Having spent my early working life in London, UK I was like so many others caught up in the rat race of a big city, sometimes hardly coming up for air. At that time I had a poor balance – more concerned about working than enjoying other aspects of my life. Although I succumbed to a busy work schedule I found time to volunteer for a Latin American charity group teaching English and supporting people with physical and emotional challenges. It was this experience that directed me towards my present vocation. As a child I was always very sensitive to the needs of others. Having grown up in a family with a sibling with learning difficulties, I was a calming influence and learned to listen and communicate a skill particularly suited to counseling and hypnotherapy. Moreover it took a near-death car accident to be the catalyst that changed the way I wanted to live, and to provide the realization that we can’t control what happens to us but we can control how we react or perceive an event that has taken place.

Emigration to Canada was the next step. During this time I focused my energy on counselling children and adults (for more information on my hypnotherapy services with children please refer to the 'Children’ page) and pursuing a career as a Clinical Hypnotherapist.

I have volunteered my hypnotherapy services with terminally ill adult patients. Presently I volunteer at a children's Hospice supporting terminally ill children and their respective families. I find these services rewarding and uplifting. From my experiences of working with people of different ages and cultures I have found it best to accept people for who they are and where they are at in their lives. I commit to that with every client I work with and everyone I meet. There is always the need to listen; to hear my client’s story and what they are hoping to achieve. The sessions cater for anyone wanting to improve the value and quality of their life whether physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.

During my spare time I find immersing myself in nature brings peace and harmony. I am fortunate to have traveled much of Europe, Central and North America and several countries in Asia as well as here in Canada. During these travels it is the people, the experiences and the memories that have brought me much enjoyment and pleasure.

I have a calm voice, compassionate nature and a positive approach. There is no need to suffer in silence perhaps struggling with issues that prevent you from enjoying life when help is at hand to steer you back on your path. I very much look forward to ‘lighting your way’.
